Revitalization program and modernization of passenger ports throughout Indonesia.
As a maritime country, The Indonesian government from 2015 to 2019 has revitalized dozens of passenger ports in several regions in Indonesia. Terminal services and interiors refer to the same service at the airport. Passenger ports are equipped with check-in counters, air-conditioned waiting rooms, lactation rooms, duty-free, restaurant, and toilets. In addition, the transfer of passengers to and from ships uses sky bridge which is commonly used at airports on airplanes.
In 2018, this revitalization resulted in a significant increase in port service ranking based on the World Economic Forum 4.0 in 2018. Indonesia's ranking rose surpassing Thailand at 3rd ranks, and below Singapore and Malaysia. It is targeted that, by 2025, all passenger ports will be able to serve passengers as in developed countries which prioritize convenience, modernization, technology, and cleanliness.
